Coaster bus conveying corps members go up in flames in a petrol station

No fewer than 30 corps members narrowly escaped death when the vehicle they boarded from Warri to Asaba, Delta state for their passing out exercise went up in flames on April 28.

A video posted online captured the moment the NYSC members were scampering for safety when the costar bus caught fire while it was refueling at a petrol station

The bus belonging to the College of Education, Warri, stopped close to the Nigeria Navy Barracks in Warri to refuel. While an attendant was putting the fuel, it suddenly started smoking and went up in flames. Many of the corps members sustained serious injuries and lost some of their belongings, but thankfully, no life was lost.

Though the cause of the fire is unknown, it was, however, reported that the driver of the bus allegedly failed to switch off the bus while it was being refueled.
