Nigeria’s first female vice-chancellor, prof. Alele Williams dies at 89

Before her death, Professor Alele Williams, a professor of Mathematics was the first female doctorate degree holder in Nigeria and was subsequently appointed the vice-chancellor of the University of Benin in 1985.

The academian died on Friday, March 25, at an undisclosed hospital in Lagos.
