The Kwara State Government has set the WAEC registration fee for the 2024/2025 academic year at N30,250 for each senior secondary student in public schools. This fee includes N27,000 for WAEC charges and an additional N3,250 for e-registration and administrative costs, as outlined by Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo-Kawu, the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development.
While addressing school principals in Ilorin at the WAEC registration kickoff, Modibbo-Kawu emphasized a strict stance against extortion, warning that any principal found imposing unauthorized charges would face penalties. “The Ministry will not tolerate extra fees beyond those approved,” she stated, encouraging principals to uphold integrity during the registration process.
Additionally, the Commissioner acknowledged the principals’ dedication to advancing education in Kwara, applauding Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s commitment to the welfare of teachers. Education leaders also praised the governor for strides in improving teacher welfare, school facilities, and the overall education sector in the state.
