AAU management warns students against causing chaos

It has come to the notice of the University Management that some misguided elements, reacting to the recent directives on the payment of fees before the commencement of the 2021/2022 First Semester examinations, are recruiting and mobilizing students to protest on Monday November 21st, 2022, under the tag of “NO KOFA, NO EXAM”. Their aim, apparently, is to disrupt the examinations and, by implication, truncate the semester and the academic session.

Management hereby sends a strong warning to all students seeking to protest that engaging in such illegal exercise will be in serious breach of the matriculation oath which they freely swore to with the attendant grave consequences, as no formal request has been sought to protest nor approval given by Management to such.

While we appreciate the challenges being faced presently by our good students in the light of the  inactive Kofa platform, Management reminds all students that efforts and engagements deployed so far to resolve the problem are yielding fruits and we expect a speedy resolution soon. Students are, therefore, strongly advised not to allow themselves to be used for disruptive activities by unscrupulous elements, but to remain calm, go about their studies peacefully and comply with the clear directives issued so far on the interim school fees payment procedures.

Management is prepared to bring the full weight of the law on any person or group of persons who, after this public warning, decides to cause a breach of the peace of the University and disrupt examinations and academic activities both within and outside the University gates.

Management assures every law-abiding staff and students of adequate security as they go about their duties in the University.
