The Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offenses Commission (ICPC) has filed fresh fraud charges against a former Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Dibu Ojerinde, at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The ex-registrar was earlier charged by the ICPC on an 18-count charge bothering on corruption in the diversion of public funds estimated at over N5.2 billion in 2021 and was remanded in a correctional facility in 2023 following a court judgment.

In the new 17-count corruption charge, Ojerinde is expected to be arraigned alongside three of his sons – Olumide Abiodun Ojerinde, Adedayo Ojerinde, and Oluwaseun Adeniyi Ojerinde, as well as a daughter-in-law, Mary Funmilola Ojerinde on Friday, March 24.

The ICPC accused Ojerinde and his family of diverting public funds while he (Mr. Ojerinde) served as National Examinations Council (NECO) and JAMB registrar.

Justice Inyang Edem Ekwo of the  Federal High Court in Abuja is expected to take their plea on the charges today.
