NANS condemns fee increment in EKSU, issues 72 hours reversal ultimatum

The National Association Of Nigerian Students (NANS), has condemned the management of Ekiti State University over its decision to increase tuition fees by over a N100,000.

NANS, in a statement issued by its National Vice-President External Affairs, on Wednesday, March 29, called on the state Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, the university’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Edward Olanipekun, and all concerned stakeholders to as a matter of urgency, to look into this critical issue and reverse the tuition fees.

The union described the increment as a ”devilish and anti-student” policy and issued a 72 hours ultimatum for the fees to be rescinded else, the union would relocate and occupy the state.

It added that the decision of the school management to increase the fees was not only Ill-timed but also inconsiderate, unjustifiable, heartless, and cruelty of its highest order considering the economic situation of the country.
