Oyo state govt vows to stop LAUTECH staff allowances for partaking in ASUU strike

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has vowed to withhold the allowances of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology lecturers for partaking in the ongoing industrial action embarked by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

The governor who aired his displeasure with the actions of the lecturers in a series of tweets on Saturday, June 4th, said the academics ought to show more compassion for the plight of the students.

He averred that LAUTECH had no business with the disagreement federal universities have with the federal government and consequently, their subventions would be withheld until they go back to class
