Reckless drivers kill 18-year-old UNIPORT student

A 100-level student of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), Rivers State, Favour Ogechi Ohaeri, has lost her life in an accident involving two vehicles.

The 18-year-old student of the Department of Philosophy was reportedly on her way to school when she was knocked down by a car while trying to cross the road in the Alakahia area of the state. Another vehicle was said to have also run over her while she was still on the ground.

It was gathered that the two drivers were arguing and fighting over the incident when someone noticed that Favour was still breathing. She was immediately rushed to the University of Port Harcourt teaching hospital (UPTH).

A friend of the deceased revealed that Favour was not given appropriate medical attention at the hospital until she and other of her friends created a scene at the hospital.

She further stated that the driver who ran over Favour ran away after she was taken to the hospital and Favour eventually passed on Monday, February 13, 2023.
